This unique resort is reminiscent of a wildlife-reserve lodge on the African savannah. Arriving guests are greeted in a three-story lobby with a crackling fireplace, hand-carved wood furniture. As the sun sets, two outdoor patios flanking the lobby provide close-up views of exotic animals, including giraffes, ostriches, impalas, and zebras.
All 1293 rooms have out balconies and are gorgeously decorated with African-inspired gubbins, such as wood-paddle ceiling fans and hand-carved armoires (blimey – we looked that up and it appears to mean ‘cupboard’) from Africa.
Stay here and you’re eligible for Disney’s Magical Express Service, which involves coaches that take you from Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort hotel, while Disney picks up your bags and takes them straight to your room (not Mr Disney himself of course, that would be weird). When your holiday is over you and your bags are whisked from the Disney Resort hotel back to the airport.
Simba’s Cubhouse provides supervised children's activities and the resort has a children’s pool, playground, and game arcade. There’s the Zahanati Massage and Fitness Centre that also offers spa and massage treatments (for an additional fee). You can ease your way into the resort’s zero entry outdoor pool (that’s a new trend in swimming pools you know! It’s a pool where the water comes right up to the top) which has a 67-foot-long slide and two spa tubs.
Call Ocean-Florida now, or enquire online with any questions at all about this hotel, or any others – we love talking about Florida, and there's NO obligation!

Ocean Florida Says
Two miles west of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, this resort - with its impressively thatched roof and African artefacts - features a 33 acre savannah (another ocean-florida definition: a tropical grass land with not too many trees) where African animals graze.
Yep, it’s like being in Africa in the middle of Disney World! In this unique resort you can swim in a pool almost in site of the giraffes and gazelles, watch antelope roam on the other side of the tall foyer windows (hopefully you’re on the inside and the antelope are outside).
Ocean-Florida Top Tip:
Plan to head to the public viewing areas in the early morning and just before the sun sets to catch sight of the animals of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge gathering to graze on the savannah. Guest services in the hotel provides advice on the best times for wildlife viewing. No hunting allowed.

Transport
