This hotel, with its strongly tropical ambience, is part of the lushly landscaped and self-contained Grand Cypress Resort that covers 1,500 acres. The 18-story, pyramid-shaped Hyatt Regency has three guestroom wings and a 200-foot atrium lobby. The hotel opened in 1984, and the rooms were completely renovated in 2001. Free shuttles are available to the nearby theme parks.
Recreational choices include an 800,000-gallon pool; 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus–designed championship golf; and equestrian, tennis, and fitness centers. The private lake offers sandy beaches, canoeing, and sailing. Supervised activities are offered for children and families, and, on Saturday nights (weather permitting), kids are invited to a beach fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. The resort offers five restaurants and four lounges.
Guests can walk through 45 acres of natural Florida environment by taking the Audubon Walk, with its elevated boardwalk and interpretive signs.
Resort Fee of $13.00 per room, per day is included in the rate.
