St Petersburg Beach and Treasure Island. Overview.
For a day out or stay overnight, St Pete’s Beach is a fantastic spot for all age groups. St Petersburg Beaches are sometimes known as the ‘Holiday Isles’, which are part of the most popular coastal trips, thanks to the romantic beaches, warm Gulf waters, sun, sea, sand and sensational ‘real’ sunsets. St Pete’s Beach is part of a 30 mile long string of busy barrier beaches. It is on Long Key, 10 miles west of downtown St Petersburg, across the Corey Causeway or the Pinellas County Bayway.
The interesting choice of hotels, motels, and restaurants suits all budgets. Otherwise grab a car and a picnic and take a scenic drive to Fort de Soto Park north of Don Cesar. Take a self guided walking tour through the pines and oaks and enjoy a picnic along the edge of the park. If you want to see a bit of Indoor attraction there are museums. Also visit shops and spas to help you spend money on luxuries. Museums, animal sanctuaries, and unusual architecture make for very interesting sights too.
